As of December 31, 2025, the Foundation’s equity portfolio totaled $273.7 million, representing a significant source of funding that strengthens the University today and for generations to come.

The Foundation’s equity portfolio is a cornerstone of its investment strategy, designed to generate both capital appreciation and dependable income.

Over time, these investments have provided substantial support to the University, funding scholarships, faculty positions, academic programs, and strategic initiatives.

The long-term nature of equity investing allows the Foundation to balance growth with stability, ensuring resources are available across changing economic conditions.

Disciplined Oversight and Governance

The equity portfolio operates under the Guidelines for Equity Investment approved by the Foundation Board.

Oversight is provided by the Board’s Investment and Audit Committee, with day-to-day management led by the Foundation’s Investment Manager, reporting to the Managing Director.

This structure ensures that all investment decisions are guided by:

Investment Approach

The Foundation’s equity assets are strategically allocated across three components, creating a balanced and diversified portfolio:

Internal Portfolio focused on conservative, dividend-producing large-cap equities, the internally managed portfolio provides steady income and

Commonfund’s CFI Multi-Strategy Equity Fund is an investment fund for colleges and universities that enhances diversification and provides exposure to a broad range of investment strategies.

Silvant Capital Management, an investment firm that manages a large-cap growth portfolio, supports long-term capital appreciation and complements the Foundation’s overall investment strategy.

Over the ten years ending December 31, 2025, the Foundation’s equity portfolio grew from $127.8 million to $273.7 million.

During that same period, equity investments provided $111.1 million of the $150.2 million contributed to the University.
